Within the Metalurgist Day Celebration, the annual Partnership Award presentation Ceremony was held in Cherepovec on 16 July. This time, the Ceremony was especially solemn, since it was dated for 55th anniversary celebration of Cherepovec’s Steel Mill – the leader of Severstal Group. Severstal honored those, who, to the opinion of its several functional directors, remain partners over a long period of time and in any situation.
Severstallat group of companies, which was represented by its Chairnam of the Board, CEO Andrey Alexeyev, was awarded by Diploma in nomination „Long-term Partnership”.
Latvian service centre Severstallat, majority owned by Russia’s Severstal, has restarted production of welded tubes at its site in Riga. This follows the completion of the company’s optimisation plan, designed to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
“The consolidated production volume of Severstallat and Severstallat Silesia in 2010 is up to 15,000 tonnes/month, including welded tubes, strips and blanks,” the company tells SBB.

JSC “Severstallat” representatives and «Severstal Russian Steel» management took part in a joint meeting which held on April 1, 2010 in Cherepovets, Russia. JSC Severstallat (Latvia) and Severstalat Silesia Ltd (Poland) presented their 2009 operational and financial results as well as their development plans at the meeting.
2009 results have been considered as satisfactory. The optimization program has been completed and its results have hit the planned indicators. Anatoly Kruchinin, the Chief Executive Officer of “Severstal Russian Steel”, positively estimated Severstallat management’s hard work on putting anti-crisis measures into effect.
The Strategic Business plans of Severstallat and Severstallat Silesia, presented at the meeting, has been adopted. Representatives of Severstal have confirmed the intention to continue develop company’s enterprises in Latvia and Poland, as a part of “Severstal Russian Steel”. Dmitry Goroshkov, the Curator of Sales segment and Sales Director of Cherepovets Steel Mill Severstal said: “We continue to consider Baltic States and Poland markets as a priority in our export sales strategy, and in this case Severstallat is the key element of this strategy"
